I've finally had a word to shazza_018 about her plans for dwstills. As she is busy and hardly on LJ anymore, I've been officially added as a maintainer. Yay :)

So apart from that news I wanted to know what types of challenges you guys would like to have in the future. Also if you'd like another 20in20 Christmas challenge? If you have other ideas for a Christmas challenge (or other challenges), leave them in a comment and I'll make a poll for everyone to vote on later in the week.

Congratulations to you on being our official maintainer!

For future challenges, one type I've always really liked is when the mod provides a particular starting image, which everyone has to use to make their icons out of. It means everyone is working from the same material, so you can really appreciate what they have done with it as icon makers in a way that you can't so easily when everyone has started with different images.

And that's a really good idea. I've participated in challenges like that and it was always interesting to see what other people made :D The downside is finding a screencap/image. I always end up finding more than one :)

Well, I guess a selection of two or three (perhaps all showing the same character or theme?) would work well too - and maybe even better for allowing some element of choice.

I think I wanted to keep it to 4 images last time I did a provided image challenge and I ended up giving like 12 caps. But I think 1-2 images is a good idea :) less complicated and with some choice. Thank you

Maybe for the holidays, a break from contests and perhaps have a Secret Santa gift exchange. Another icontest I've participated at did that last year, and it was really fun.
