We still need a tie breaking despite the tie breaker so I'm doing another poll (again choose "I'm nominated" if one of these is your icon):
4.[Poll #1929270]

Hi, I'm new to this community and voting this week for the first time, so do feel free to ignore me. But I notice that in previous rounds you have asked people to vote by expressing their preferences in order, and awarding more points for a first preference than a second preference, and so on. That's also the way I've seen voting done in most other icon communities I've been a part of. I was quite surprised to see the voting for this week being done as a simple poll, and I think all these tie-breakers are showing why it doesn't really work. Preferential voting should mean it doesn't happen anything like as often.

Yeah, I can see that, from both the voters' point of view and yours. It was definitely worth experimenting! But glad to hear you'll be going back to preferential voting - and hopefully everyone will understand why now.

You could combine polls and points by making 4-part polls. You'd still have to add the points up, but at least it would be faster than having to look through comments.

No, I mean you could make a poll that's in 4 parts. The first has the headline "first favorite icon" or something, lists all entered icons and has radio buttons. The other parts are the same, except that they're names "2nd favorite" and so on.
