Hi! For this challenge icons should be partly in black & white and partly in color.
One option for your icons is to use the isolated, selective color effect, usually called 'color splash' in icontests, or otherwise known as the Pleasantville or Sin City movies style.*
Another option is to make black & white icons with a few colorful elements (text, decorations, backgrounds, etc).
This style is what most of the example icons are in, I couldn't find many Doctor Who icons with grayscale & isolated color effects.
