dwstills first ever 12-in-25 icon challenge.What It Is
This challenge is modeled after the popular 20-in-20 & 10-in-30 style icontests.
Voting will be set up 20-in-20 style. The seven themes will be voted on in batches.
The five categories will be voted on in sets.
Other voting, perhaps Best-Of each set is TBD. If you would like this please comment to the questions thread & let me know.
Initially, my idea was for a set up where people could post one icon per day, if anyone wanted to do a fandom advent calendar but it's not required to post your icons like that.
There is the option to keep your icons secret.
Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or if you would like to see icon examples for any of the themes.
Sign-Ups & Claims
When you sign up, you must chose a theme.
All icons, except for the seventh theme, must use images of your subject/topic claim.
You may claim one of the following options: One full season/series, one character, one regular episode, one special/X-mas special/TV movie eg. "The Day of the Doctor", or multiple specials sorted by the Doctor featured eg. all Tenth Doctor X-mas specials.
If you don't know the exact number of the episode or special episode, the title is okay.
Your username will be put on the list below. Claims are not exclusive. Only I will see your claims, unless you tell me to display it. You have until you submit your icons to decide if you want to post them to your own LJ or DW blog or if you want to submit via the screened comment using the form and to keep them secret/screened.
You may change your claim at anytime.
If you want to make 24 icons - you may claim two sets but each claim and each icon from both sets must use different images.

Icon Themes & Prompts
Icons 1-7:
1. Bare Minimum: Simple icon. No added text, no complex designs, no fake backgrounds.
2. Look Away: A subject turned away, looking away or down.
3. Hot & Cold: Represent either hot or cold (or both) - eg. colors, snow, fire, sun etc.
4. Greyscale: Grey monochrome, black & white icon.
5. Multiplication: Repeat the same image mirror, levels or blocks etc
6. Companions: Two or more characters shown on the icon.
7. Redux: Choose one theme from any of the previous 77 challenges other than the 20-in-20s, out-of-character, icon battle, set challenges and the 12 Days of Dr. the 12th. The Hall of Fame post has the theme names if you hover of the icons I may need to update, but almost all of them are there.
Please write your chosen theme somewhere along with your entry. Example: Daleks vs. Cybermen Redux.
If you choose a single character challenge, you may use a different character for this icon if that is the theme you choose.
Icons 8 - 12:
Category: Textures Hoard! Use one or more textures from this entry - Textures Hoard! - on each of the five icons.
Replaced background technique is not required, there are light textures & grunge (overlay) textures included.
Please use at least one different texture per icon.

Special rule:
For this challenge you may enter up to two (2) icons with any kind of animation, all other icons must follow the 'stillness' rule.
ENTERING & ENTRY OPTIONS
Please use this thread to enter or link your entries → Entry Thread.
Option A. ENTER VIA SCREENED COMMENT/STAY SECRET.
Your icons will remain secret until the results are announced.
Option B. ENTER BY POSTING IN YOUR LJ OR DW (PUBLIC POST).
If you submit your icons via an entry at your LJ and enter by showing me with a link back using the form.
I will unscreen the comment.
OPTIONAL: Choose the three icons you want as your previews, I will post those three icons & link in an update with a post to the dwstills community.

Please use this table - feel free to change the colors & fonts.
You may post on Dreamwidth if you prefer.
To input the table codes, set your post editor to HTML. I don't know if it'll work with the new post editor.
